13 Spring Decorating Ideas

1. A Bouquet of Fresh Flowers

Nothing says “spring” quite like colorful blooms, so make sure to display them prominently in your home! You can put them in a glass vase (hello mason jars!) on shelves, the kitchen counter, or your dining room table as a springtime centerpiece.

2. Paint For Spring

Spring is a great time to add a little color to your home, and one way to do that is by painting an accent wall. Choose a bold color or a pastel shade, anything that complements the rest of your decor. Have fun with it!  You can add stripes, polka dots, or even hand-painted designs.

3. Get Organized

We’ve all heard the expression “spring cleaning”.  Spring is a great time to get your home organized. This can be done by decluttering your closets, purging your cabinets, and getting rid of any unwanted or unused items around your home.

4. Update Your Window Treatments

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to update your living room for spring, consider changing your window treatments. This could involve adding new curtains or blinds, or simply switching out your heavy dark winter drapes for something lighter and brighter.

5. Paint Your Front Door

Another quick and easy way to update your home for spring is to paint your front door. This is a great diy project for beginners, as it doesn’t require a lot of time or effort. Plus, it’s an inexpensive way to make a big impact on the curb appeal of your home

6. Add Pops of Color

One of the easiest ways to change up your decor is to switch out your accessories. Swap out dark or flannel throw blankets for lighter or brighter colors. Also, trade in dark-colored vases and pillow covers for neutrals. Experiment with some new wall art or photo frames to give your space a fresh look.  Lavenders look great, just sayin’!

7. Rearrange Your Furniture

If you’re feeling like your home needs a little refresh, try rearranging your furniture. You’d be surprised how much difference it can make!

8. Spring Wreaths

Wreaths are a classic way to add some personality to your front door, and there are so many styles to choose from! Whether you go for a rustic, natural-looking wreath or an artificial one with bright colors and flowers, it’s sure to bring some extra life to your entryway.

9. Spring Mantel Decor

I know in my own home, I often use the mantel in my living room as the main focal point. So, make sure to use that space for spring home decor too.  Check out our post about all the different ways you can decorate your mantel for spring.

10. Add Plants

Faux (or real) trees, tiny potted succulents, moss topiary trees, and other various house plants look great against all the pops of color springtime décor brings.  I personally love love love the light shade of eucalyptus.  Eucalyptus garland looks amazing as part of a table centerpiece or hung above the fireplace!

11. Floral Wallpaper

I’ve written about this before, but I love the wallpaper with giant blossoms.  And as you can see in the picture, just because it’s spring doesn’t mean you can’t use black or darker colors!  The floral pattern makes it work for any time of year.

12. Use Spring Season Textures

Add some interest to your space by bringing in different textures.  Just like you swapped out darker colors for lighter ones, you can do the same thing with textures. Think thin soft blankets, light quilts instead of heavy duvets, sheer curtains, or even throw pillows with beading or sequins.  Fabrics like linen and muslin are perfect for this time of year.

13. Bring The Outdoors In

One of the best ways to decorate for spring is to bring the outdoors in.  My favorite part about spring is that the weather starts to improve, we can take advantage of it by opening up the windows and letting in some fresh air and natural light in.

How to decorate your home for spring?

Give your home a spring makeover this season with some eye-catching decor! Start by giving your walls a refresh with vibrant wallpapers, a fresh coat of paint or some bright patterned wall art. Add a touch of springtime cheer with floral accents like curtains, cushions, and rugs. Rearrange furniture to create a brighter, more open space and use light throws and blankets to make your home feel cozy. Finally, bring the outdoors indoors with some potted plants and flowers to make your home feel alive and uplifting

When should I start decorating for spring?

March. Most designers say that March is the perfect month to start setting out spring decorations.  Some like to start out by decorating for the holiday with easter eggs, pastel colors, butterflies and bunnies.  But, you don’t have to do easter decorations. Just focus on the new season and longer days for inspiration! In most parts of the country, March tends to be sunny, cool, and the perfect time to open up your windows!
