9 Delicious Party Snacks for the Big Game that Everyone Will Love

Table of Contents

As anyone who knows me knows, I love to watch football. Watching the championship game is one of my favorite days of the year. The commercials, football, and food all come together to bring about the perfect time to spend with friends. Even people who don’t like football can enjoy the camaraderie. I can’t control how good the game will be or how funny the commercials are but I can pick the food we will have. I didn’t forget the booze, I just usually let the people I am watching with choose their favorite libation.

Most people assume you can order pizza and wings and be done with it. This can work but then you don’t get to have much variety. It is also fun to get a little creative with your choices. Here is a list of foods I would love to have at my watch party. Most of the recipes are fairly simple and can be prepared ahead of time. Since neither of my teams will be there this year, I can enjoy the food and drink and cheer against the team I like the least.

Crock Pot Spinach & Bacon Queso Dip

A cheese dip that can be made ahead and left in a crockpot seems like a no-brainer. You could make your own tortilla chips or just buy some. I also like the idea of toasted bread pieces which are delicious dipped in almost anything. This recipe is one I know I will use again and again.

Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Having more than one dip available is not a sin. Buffalo chicken dip is one I am sure you have tried. I didn’t realize how easy it was to make. I could eat it right out of the pan, though you can use the same chips and bread as the cheese dip. I guess if you want to stick to diet food, celery sticks and carrot sticks can work also. Remember this is the big game and it is only once a year so diet food is not much of a choice.

Cheesy Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms

I forgot to mention finger food is preferable for watching the game. These mushrooms MamaLovesFood are irresistible and can be prepped ahead and put in the oven when needed. Just the combination of bacon, cheese, and garlic makes my mouth water. These would be great for any kind of party but I am using them for my game watch party.

Bacon Mac and Cheese Bites

Macaroni and cheese is a favorite of just about everyone, add bacon to the mix and you have a winner. I love the idea of using muffin tins to make bite-sized appetizers. TheGunnySack makes the mac and cheese into a finger food that can be eaten anytime. These can also be prepped ahead of time so you could make them for a quick dinner or late night snack.

Pepperoni Pizza Puffs

I must premise this post by saying I love pizza. I could eat pizza any time of day or night. These pizza puffs by Real Housemoms are a way to have the taste of pizza without having to wait for it to be delivered. They are also much fresher than delivery pizza. These may not make it to game time though because they are so yummy.

SLOW COOKER LITTLE SMOKIES

Sticking with my finger food trend I decided to add this very easy but addictive mini sausage dish from LittleDairyonthePrairie. As long as you have cocktail picks on hand these can be eaten the same as any other finger food. They taste nothing like the sausages straight from the can. Try these and you will develop a whole new appreciation for the mini sausage.

EPIC DRY-RUBBED BAKED CHICKEN WINGS

I guess you can’t watch the big game without some type of wings. I love buffalo wings but don’t enjoy frying things at all. These wings are just as good as fried ones and not as messy. The recipe for gorgonzola dip is a great one but I am sure a store bought ranch or bleu cheese would be good as well. If you must have the buffalo taste you could have some wing sauce on the side for dipping.

Crispy Baked Jalapeno Poppers

This is one appetizer that takes a little more work than the other ones. If you love jalapenos like me, these are well worth your effort. They have just the right amount of crunch and are baked instead of fried. I do tend to avoid frying foods at all costs. Again the ingredients are bacon, cheese, and cream cheese. I can just imagine munching on them with a cold beer in hand.

CHEESEBURGER TOTS

Just the name cheeseburger tots is enough to make your mouth water. This recipe from HomemadeInterest is one everyone will want to try. No need for messy burgers or fries. They even have a recipe for a special sauce that can be drizzled over the top. Mini pickle slices could be placed on the side for people who are so inclined.

BAKED TURKEY & CHEESE SANDWICHES

I decided to add a sandwich to my game day food menu. At LemonTreeDwelling this is not your typical sandwich since it can be made ahead of time. When it is time for the game just pop the sandwich in the oven and you have a hot fresh sandwich without much effort at all. Even someone who isn’t a turkey fan will love the way the flavors blend together in this sandwich.
